The Women Deliver Conference (WD2023) took place in Kigali, Rwanda 17-20 July 2023.

Women Deliver 2023 is one of the largest multisectoral convenings to advance gender equality and CSEM members and partners were there to engage.

Thank you for having joined us for an engaging discussion with advocates, health care professionals, and government representatives on gender-related barriers to accessing quality health care and opportunities for advancing gender equity within universal health coverage (UHC), including at the United Nations High-Level Meeting on UHC in September 2023.
Panelists shared key findings from over 40 country consultations with civil society held in 2021 and 2022 as part of the State of UHC Commitment Review.

The Alliance for Gender Equality and UHC, along with UHC2030, prepared a brief on gender responsive health systems that will provide a powerful advocacy resource for civil society organizations and communities to urge their governments to take action and hold them accountable. The event dissected the key issues that are undermining the health systems’ delivery of quality care to girls, women and marginalized groups as well as offering examples of promising practices for the future.

Thank you for having joined us for this in-person multi-stakeholder consultation led by Women in Global Health (WGH) as a co-convenor of the Alliance for Gender Equality and UHC and UHC2030.  The event included remarks from the CSEM’s Amy Boldosser-Boesch and from UHC2030 co-chair Gabriela Cuevas Barron.
