For the past six years, the world has come together on Universal Health Coverage Day (UHC Day) to rally around the idea that everyone, everywhere should have access to quality, affordable health care, without suffering financial hardship. On December 12, 2019, stakeholders commemorated UHC Day under the theme “Keep the Promise.” CSEM members around the world led events urging leaders to keep the promise of Health For All.
In January, the CSEM called on members to share images showcasing their advocacy in action through the UHC Day Photo Contest. Members submitted photos depicting their country-level efforts to promote keeping the promise to achieve UHC by 2030. The CSEM selected the best images based on the depiction of action, visibility of branding and messaging, and diversity and inclusivity communicated by the image. The winners, who will receive a prize package of UHC promotional materials, are:

The CSEM expresses gratitude to all the entrants. All submitted images will form part of the CSEM’s photo bank, and as communicated in the initial announcement, will be used in CSEM multimedia products. Congratulations to those who held activities on UHC Day across the world, amplifying the message to governments to keep the promises made in the Political Declaration of the High-level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage.
