Guy Bokongo
Policy and Advocacy Country Lead, PATH
Guy Bokongo is the Policy and Advocacy Country Lead at PATH in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). In this role, he advocates for the prioritization of policies to support direct service provision, creating demand for vaccination, HAT (sleeping sickness), and Maternal Newborn and Child Health services, and increasing access to immunization. He also supports efforts to ensure that government and international actors are accountable to the people and communities.
For over a decade, Guy has been a passionate advocate for and trusted partner to civil society partners in the improvement of maternal, newborn and child health services, including child immunization in the DRC and beyond. He is deeply committed to promoting and accelerating health equity through UHC, particularly to ensure that populations in fragile settings such as the DRC are not left behind.
He is a GFF CSO technical advisor and a member of the country GFF CSO Steering Committee. He also leads advocacy activities that are tied to the implementation of the Kinshasa Declaration on Immunization, and sits on national Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) technical working groups and several sub-committees that are convened by the Ministry of Health in DRC. He previously served as a GAVI CSO steering committee member to support raising CSO voices in decision-making process for immunization.
