Zahedul Islam
Director of Treatment, Procurement and Supply Management, Alliance for Public Health
Zahedul Islam is working with Alliance for Public Health (APH), Ukraine, as Director of the Treatment, Procurement, and Supply Management department. As a member of the senior management team in APH, he is responsible for managing all treatment programs (HIV, TB, HepC) and all procurement, including for Global Fund Grants to Ukraine. He also contributes to the country-level efforts to ensure the continuity of all services during the COVID-19 emergency and in the ongoing humanitarian crises due to the Russian attack on Ukraine.
He has over twenty years of wide experience with humanitarian organizations in developing countries around the world. His key areas of expertise are in strategic thinking, program design, development and management with a focus to achieve timely deliverables with technical integrity.
Zahedul Islam is also a board member of civil society associations and international organizations where he can participate in setting the agenda for key public health activities and contribute to the accelerated access to people’s health and social services. He is a member of UCAP, in the board of directors of MSF – South Asia, a civil society representative within the ACT-Accelerator Diagnostics pillar, and a member of the Steering Committee of the Stop TB partnership in Ukraine. In 2019, Zahedul participated in the pre-consultation meeting at the UN on UHC, and organized and held working meetings with representatives of civil society and communities as well as with representatives of the executive branch to determine the messages of the Ukrainian delegation to UNHLM.
