Waiswa Nkwanga is the Senior Technical Advisor for UHC Advocacy and Coordinator for the CSEM Secretariat at Management Sciences for Health (MSH). Prior to joining MSH, Waiswa was Senior Associate at the ACTION Global Health Partnership at RESULTS, where he led the partnership’s advocacy on tuberculosis, the Global Fund, and research and development. During his time at ACTION, Waiswa worked alongside other civil society organizations to strengthen engagement with the G20 and led the first-ever global civil society survey on the impact COVID-19 on TB.
Waiswa was born and raised in Uganda and attributes his passion for international development, human rights, and global health to his life experiences growing up at the height of the AIDS epidemic and civil wars in the region. Waiswa holds a MSc. in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies from the London School of Economics and a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
