Tomoko Fukuda
Advocacy Manager, Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning
Tomoko Fukuda in her role as Advocacy Manager at JOICFP (Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning) advocates for sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR), women’s empowerment and gender equality in Japan and globally. She also provides technical assistance and consultancy for behavior change communication programs for SRHR in Asian, Africa and Latin American regions.
Ms. Fukuda is the Secretary General for the Japan CSO Network on Global Health and is also the organizer of the Gender Unit within the SDGs Civil Society Network in Japan. She is as a member of the Advisory Group for the Civil Society Engagement Mechanism of UHC2030 and is a steering committee member of the Asia Pacific Alliance (APA) for SRHR.
Ms. Fukuda spent her childhood years in the remote mountains in the Philippines with her family, as her father was a Christian missionary translating the Bible into the ethnic minority language. Ms. Fukuda earned her BA in Education from International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan.
