Zulma Ortiz is currently Director of the Research Department at Fundación Huésped (Buenos Aires, Argentina), where she leads projects that promote health access for all, and key populations in particular. She is a researcher, author and educator with extensive experience in the field of health, both at the national and international level.

She was a Cochrane reviewer and Member of the Pan American Advisory Committee on Health Research (PAHO 2007-2017), worked at UNICEF as a Health Specialist (2008-2015), and co-led together with PAHO, the interagency group of Indigenous Population.

As Coordinator of the National Health Research Program of the Minister of Health she was granted the “Health Research and Public Health” Award by “Grupo PAIS” (Argentine Pact for Inclusion in Health), in merit for her contribution to strengthen the country’s health research system, in 2020.

She was designated as Minister of Health of Buenos Aires Province in 2015 to design,
execute and control health policies, plans and programs for the promotion, prevention, recovery and rehabilitation of population health.

She has authored numerous articles on the field of rheumatology, epidemiology and public health, and has been teaching for the last 20 years, as a Professor of international, national, public and private universities.
