With fewer than three weeks until International Universal Health Coverage Day (UHC Day), we are pleased to announce that the 2019 UHC Day campaign toolkit is now live, along with more resources at UHCDay.org. This year’s campaign calls on leaders across sectors to Keep the Promise of the Political Declaration of the High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage—the most ambitious and comprehensive agreement on health in history. The first step is to spotlight the promises that were made and encourage everyone, everywhere, to play a part in holding our leaders, our countries, and ourselves accountable.

How to Get Involved

  • Unpack the political declaration using the new Key Targets, Actions & Commitments document, which summarizes the most important promises that leaders made, in line with the Key Asks.
  • Call on leaders to Keep the Promise using the campaign toolkit, which for the first time this year includes country-specific tweets and graphics.
  • Show your solidarity with the UHC movement by proudly displaying the UHC umbrella symbol.

You can also share your plans here, and be featured on the heat map showcasing global UHC Day activities by multiple stakeholders.

UHC Day Global Kick-Off Call

On December 11, 2019, the UHC Day Coordination Group will host a global kick-off call to provide a platform for UHC Day grantees and partners from across the world to showcase their events and emphasize how to encourage governments, businesses, academia, and civil society to Keep the Promise to take collective action towards achieving universal health coverage by 2030. The call will feature remarks by UHC2030 Co-Chairs Dr. Githinji Gitahi and Professor Ilona Kickbusch, representatives from civil society, the private sector and a selection of global micro-grantees. RSVP here.

UHC Day Micro-Grant Application Update

The UHC Day Coordination Group has sent out email notifications to all applicants about the outcome of their micro-grant application. If you have any questions about this, please email campaign@uhcday.org. The CSEM Secretariat is not able to answer any questions about the micro-grants. Please note that the CSEM is unfortunately not in a position to provide funding to support any UHC-related activities, before, on, or after UHC Day. This includes travel to conferences or any other events.
