As news of the Covid-19 pandemic began, we developed an educational program for handwashing and hygiene for young school girls at Government Girls School, Kaduna. After the training, we created a Whatsapp group to sustain the information-sharing program with the girls. The initial group was encouraged to add their peers to the group and supported to continue the conversation. We shared precautionary measures and other information about the virus from WHO, UNICEF and the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) to counter misinformation.
