You are invited to join frontline Civil Society Organizations who are convening UN delegates and participants at the UNGA 78 for a panel and press conference.

It is organized by African Services Committee in NY and co-sponsored by Outright International, COC Netherlands.

The event is entitled, ?Accelerating Civil Society Responses to LGBTQ Human Rights in Africa, the US and Globally,? and will present field updates on the status and impact of anti-LGBTQ legislation by African leaders and activists in Uganda, Ghana, Tanzania, and Kenya, as well as the United States. The panel will discuss needed strategic responses to the increased anti-LGBTQ attacks and the role of the UN, Member States, other governments, and civil society groups and actors.

This offsite Side Event is Monday, September 18th from 10 am to 12 noon (panel 10-11:15; press conference 11:30-12) and will be held at a venue not far from the United Nations. We will share the final invitation on Wed., Sept 13th with links to RSVP for NGOs, individuals and for press.

NOTE: The final invitation for this event, with links to RSVP for NGOs/delegates and press will be shared on Wednesday, Sept 13th. RSVPs will be required  at least 24 hours in advance of the event. The in-person event is accessible; space is limited. The event will be livestreamed, and moderated by African Services.
