Arrière-plan

On May 29, 2024 countries endorsed the resolution on social participation for universal health coverage, health and well-being during the World Health Assembly. The resolution will ensure meaningful participation of people, communities and civil society in decision-making processes ensuring equitable and people-centered health systems to achieve UHC and the SDGs by 2030. It represents a major step forward in the implementation of the 2023 political declaration on UHC in which world leaders committed to promoting ?participatory, inclusive approaches to health governance for UHC, including by exploring modalities for enhancing a meaningful whole-of-society approach and social participation.?

While the resolution represents a step towards ensuring inclusive, equitable and accountable health systems, civil society has an important role to play to ensure its translation into real policies, budgets, regulation, structures at the country level with clear strategies, milestones and timelines.

This webinar will bring together civil society and communities for a thought provoking discussion on how they will work together to support the translation of the resolution into concrete actions at the country level. The session will highlight lessons learned and opportunities for civil society to engage and sustain political support on social participation.

Objectifs de l'événement
