Senior Director of Policy at Seed Global Health

Marionka Pohl is Senior Director of Policy at Seed Global Health, where she leads global policy efforts on the health workforce, health systems strengthening, sustainable health financing, and climate and health.She is working closely with partner governments across the African continent, and supports national policy reform and workforce investment strategies while seeking to translate country-level experience into global policy debates on strengthening resilient and equitable health systems.

With more than 15 years of experience in global health policy and advocacy, Marionka focuses on how national health system priorities can better shape global health governance and financing decisions. Her work bridges country-level policy engagement with multilateral processes, helping ensure that discussions on global health architecture, climate and health, and pandemic preparedness translate into practical reforms that strengthen health systems and workforce capacity.

Earlier in her career, Marionka worked as a political aide in the German parliament and as a community organizer, gaining first-hand experience in political decision-making processes as well as grassroots mobilization and advocacy. During this time, she helped build a coalition of 16 civil society organizations in Berlin advocating for improved access to health and social protection and secured €300,000 in philanthropic funding to support these campaigns.

Prior to joining Seed Global Health, Marionka served as Global Head of Health Policy and Advocacy at Save the Children International, where she led global policy strategies and spearheaded the organization’s first climate and health advocacy strategy. She has engaged extensively with multilateral institutions and global policy platforms including the World Health Organization, the World Health Assembly, the UN General Assembly, the G7 and G20, and climate-health dialogues under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

She holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Free University of Berlin and a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies from the University of Bath.
