Danjuma Adda is a public health advocate, researcher, and global leader in viral hepatitis, liver disease, AMR and health systems strengthening with a background in virology. He is the Founder/Executive Director of the Centre for Initiative and Development (CFID), a non-profit organisation based in Nigeria that promotes health equity through community-driven solutions. Since its inception in 2009, CFID has provided FREE HIV/HBV/HCV tests to the general and key populations, as well as treatment to indigent patients in Nigeria, removing the out-of-pocket cost of accessing HBV/HCV care, in the context of leaving no one behind. A person living with hepatitis B, Danjuma has transformed his personal experience into a lifelong mission of advocacy, stigma reduction, and patient empowerment.

He served as the President of the World Hepatitis Alliance (2021–2024), the first African to hold the position, where he led global advocacy to accelerate progress toward hepatitis elimination and universal health coverage (UHC). He has also contributed his expertise as a member of the WHO Strategic and Technical Advisory Group on HIV, Hepatitis, and STIs (STAG HHS), Technical Advisor to the Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination (CGHE), Community Advisory Panel with the Medicine Patent Pool (MPP), and, he serves on multiple technical advisory groups, the Forum for Collaborative Research on HBV Cure.

Through CFID, Danjuma champions programs on viral hepatitis, maternal health, and climate-health resilience, reaching underserved communities in Nigeria. He is passionate about advancing people-centered health systems, community participation, and policy accountability in achieving UHC and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
